What's New: MAC Ruby Woo, Shy Girl, Runaway Red + Burt's Bees Lip Balm..♥

Looks like I'm on a roll today with my posts lol.

I mentioned the other day that I popped down to my local MAC counter. Whilst there, I managed to get MAC 'Ruby Woo' and 'Shy Girl' lipstick' which have been on my wishlist. My mum bought the 'Runaway Red' from the MAC Me Over collection but I thought I'd blog about it anyway so you'd have an idea of the colour in case you were interested.

As well as the lippies, I picked up the Studio Sculpt Concealer which I usually use to perfect my eyebrows.

I also ordered Burt's Bees Weatherproofing Lip Balm as we are approaching the colder months and my lips need protecting and moisturising.

MAC Runaway Red

This lipstick is perfect for the A/W 2011 make up trend! You can really create that vampy lip look with this shade. I should have bought one myself. It's my mums first MAC lippy :)

MAC Ruby Woo

I've wanted this shade for a while now (after seeing it on other people and absolutely loving it) so I've finally bought it. It was on my 'Wishlist' page and now I can finally cross it off :)

MAC Shy Girl

This is another colour that was on my wishlist. The day I went into MAC this week was the first time me seeing it in real life. It's a nice peachy nude.

Studio Sculpt Concealer

This is the concealer I regularly purchase to neaten my brows after filling them in. I use the shade NC50.

Burt's Bees Weatherproofing Lip Balm

I've never purchased any Burt's Bees products before. I bought this to use under my lipsticks so that my lips are protected and do not dry out and also to use in the colder months. I hope its good!

Hey beauts! I was starting to get bored of the Essie - Van D'go and I wanted something more subtle and neutral as I was tired of my bright finger nails. I decided I wanted to paint my nails using Models Own - Nyla Nude. I've had it at home for a while now but I've never actually picked it up to use so I just thought I'd give it a go.

I would say it was more of a peachy nude than what it appears to be in the pictures above. They're not really doing the polish any justice and looks much nicer in person.

This nail polish is a bit on the runny side therefore if you're not careful, it may apply messily. It took two coats to get an opaque finish.

How is everyone? If you're in England, I hope you're enjoying the hot weather because I'm sure it won't last for long!

Today was like 25°C or more so it was quite hot compared to the weather we've had here in England for the past month or so. I had a BBQ to attend and wasn't too sure of what foundation to put on. My Estee Lauder

Double Wear Foundation has always been a bit too dark but it's becoming very noticeable now as my skin is getting lighter and looking healthier. As it was a hot day, I needed the lasting power of the DW (Double Wear) foundation but in a lighter shade so I mixed my DW 6N1 Truffle with my Face Atelier Ultra #10 Cocoa sample. If you look at the picture above, it's not the perfect match but it was manageable :)

I just wanted to show you how the two foundations look when mixed together. I must say, this combination lasted all day even through the heat! I'm actually wearing it now and it still looks perfect.

Primer: Milk of Magnesia (T-Zone) and MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage

Foundation: Face Atelier Ultra Foundation in #10 Cocoa and Estee Lauder Double Wear in 6N1 Truffle

MAC Matchmaster Foundation Update..♥

Hello beauties!

It's been a little while since I posted something. Can you believe we're in September already!

Anyway, I popped into my local MAC counter to have a look at the new collections. To be honest, I only really went there to get some lipsticks and to have a quick look at the new Matchmaster Foundation. I got there like 20mins before closing time so I didn't really get a chance to have a look at everything properly so I might head back next week.

I wasn't able to get colour matched to the new foundation as it was nearly closing time but I had a look at the colours 7.0 and 8.0 (not realising there was a 7.5 shade). Although they adjust to your skin tone, 7.0 looked a little to light and 8.0 looked a little too dark so next time I go, I think I'll have a look at 7.5 and maybe get a sample. This foundation is going to be permanent so I'm in no rush to be honest. I wasn't able to get a sample today as they said there wasn't any available but hopefully when I pop in again, they'll have some.

BUT the point of this post really was to give you a rough idea of the shade numbers compared to MACs original shades!

FOTD: Using Face Atelier Ultra Foundation..♥

Hey beauts!

As you all know, I received two samples of Face Ateliers' Ultra Foundation in the colours #10 Cocoa and #11 Mink during the week. Since then I have used the samples twice and I believe there is still enough of the sample for 2/3 more uses. I have only used it twice so I won't give you a full review on it just yet but I must say so far I'm absolutely loving it! I actually think I might have to pack my Estee Lauder Double Wear away somewhere and buy this!

In the above photo, I'm wearing a mix of Mink and Cocoa. As you can see the colour match is not perfect but I'm still playing around with the mixing (maybe more Cocoa and less of Mink?). I'm trying to see if I can get hold of a sample of Zero Plus to try out!

I just thought I'd let you see what the foundation looks like on me and I'll give you an update as time goes on.

Okay so I know it hasn't been too summery in England and it's a bit late in the season to have my nails painted this colour but I just love this nail polish and I still wanted that summery feeling (even if it wants to rain everyday =/ ). Today, I decided to get my nails painted in the colour 'Van D'go' by Essie.

Van D'go looks like a pastel pink in the bottle but once on your nails, it's a brighter, pinky-peachy colour.

The first coat of this polish was quite streaky but once the second coat was applied it looked fine. In the pictures above, I have two coatings.

This is a beautiful colour for summer. Just because the sun doesn't shine everyday doesn't mean colours like this can't be used!

I had completely forgotten that I'd ordered a sample of the Face Atelier Ultra Foundation so unexpectedly, it arrived this morning. To be honest, I ordered it out of curiosity and I just wanted to see what the foundation was about.

These samples were ordered in the shades #10 Cocoa and #11 Mink. I ordered two as I wasn't too sure which colour I would be but by the looks of it, neither of them are! Though I haven't yet sampled this on my face (as I didn't want to waste product because I'm not going anywhere), #10 Cocoa looks like it'll be too light and #11 Mink looks too dark :(

When I'm ready to test the foundation on my face, I may mix the two shades together in hope for a decent colour match and we will see where it goes from there. Though having said that, they make a shade called Zero Plus which may be used to darken other shades or used as a foundation itself.

I'm thinking Zero Plus itself might be my colour match.

NEW MAC Matchmaster Foundation..♥

Over the past year or so I haven't really been into any of my MAC foundations and have steered towards other brands. I don't hate them or anything, I just like exploring. MAC haven't really come out with any new liquid foundations recently until now!!!

I was really shocked when I found out MAC were releasing a permanent new line of liquid foundation called MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation.

Funnily enough, this foundation isn't named like others that are currently sold (NC/NW/N/C) but instead are in a colour range of 1.0 - 10.0. According to some sources, the colours 1.0 - 10.0 should be equivalent to NC15-NW60!! This is amazing as it means that Matchmaster will be available for skin tones ranging from pale to very deep. I just really hope the shades have a neutral undertone!

According to Temptalia the launch dates are:

• September 22nd 2011 for U.S./Canada

• September 2011 for International (Except Asia)

• September 2012 (Asia)

From the description, I am actually excited to try this out!
